Who writes these comparisons
These pages are written and maintained by the Chamet editorial team. We’ll be upfront: Chamet is itself a free 1-on-1 video chat app, so these are brand-published comparisons, not an independent review site. We think that’s fine as long as we’re honest about it — so we disclose it on every page, stick to verifiable facts, and openly say when a competitor is the better choice for a given need.
What we weigh
Every comparison looks at the same five factors. We don’t use a single blended “score” — different people care about different things, so we describe how each app does on each factor and let you decide.
Where our facts come from
Every claim we make about an app — its price, platforms, verification, features — comes from that app’s own public information: its website, its Google Play and App Store listings, and its help centre, accessed at the time of writing. We don’t invent scores, ratings or download numbers, and we don’t repeat rumours.
Each comparison page carries a Sources line and a “last reviewed” date. Because prices and features change — and often vary by region or promotion — we always recommend confirming the details on the provider’s official site before you decide.
How we stay fair
- No paid placement. No competitor pays to appear or to rank in any position — rankings reflect only the criteria above.
- We say when a rival wins. Every alternative page has an honest “when the other app is the better choice” section. A page that only flatters us isn’t useful to you and won’t be trusted.
- Verifiable facts only. If we can’t source a claim from official material, we don’t make it.
- Fair comparisons. Where we compare against a “typical” app rather than a named one, we say so, and we don’t misrepresent a competitor to make ourselves look better.
